What is faith?

Hebrews 11:1 explains faith as "the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen”.

This is one of the hardest aspects of Christianity, as it requires believing in God, that can not be seen.

However, it can and must be done as "it is impossible to please Him", without faith. (Hebrews 11:6)

The verse goes on to say, " for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him."

According to this Biblical reference, faith is an important component of Christianity, and God, in His infinite goodness, rewards those who do so.

In Mark 5:34, Jesus heals a woman because of her faith, saying, “Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace, and be healed of your disease.”

Luke 17:19 tells us that a leper was also healed because of his faith, "Then Jesus said to him,“Rise and go; your faith has made you well!”

The Bible has so many examples of people with faith and how they were richly rewarded for this, proving that faith is quite necessary.

Some might argue that having faith is difficult, especially in bad times.

However, the lack of faith in the God, that you serve, makes you the same as those who do not believe in Him.

Having faith in God is the only way to go through life, especially in the world we live, filled with tales of negativity.

We can also be rest assured that God will never abandon us when we place our faith/trust in Him, and that He has promised to reward us.
