The Nigerian Senate has confirmed all of President Muhammadu Buhari’s ministerial nominees except former Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi.
Ex-governor’s confirmation delayed as Senate considers petition against him
Amaechi’s confirmation is being delayed due to a petition filed against him by three Senators from his state citing allegations of corruption levelled against him.

The complaint was filed before the Senate Committee on Ethics and Privileges.
The committee had earlier ruled that the petition against Amaechi couldn’t stop his confirmation as the case against him was still being heard by a court.
Chairman, Sam Anyanwu is currently presenting the committee’s report to the Senate before Amaechi can be considered for confirmation.
