Emoji hashtags now available plus 3 new filters

The newly added filters join the five new additions from December, which were huge successes with the users, with Ludwig and Crema earning the top two spots for the most popular filters on the site.

Two of the new filters.

Instagram has added three new filters to its lineup, including Lark, Reyes, and Juno. These filters are made to brighten images and seem appropriate for springtime photos.

Together with the new filters, Instagram is also adding support for emoji in hashtags, giving you the chance to tag your photos with the tiny pictographs that have come to dominate text conversations, and click on them to locate more posts that are associated with them.

The newly added filters join the five new additions from December, which were huge successes with the users, with Ludwig and Crema earning the top two spots for the most popular filters on the site. Instagram also plans to steadily release new ones to maintain its edge on the market and limit the competition.

If one considers Instagrams external apps, including Layout and Hyperlapse, and its consistent changes to in-app tools to better the user’s experience, the Facebook-owned company is doing a great job of shoring up itself against potential competitors.
