Another uber ban

This time a court is frankfurt district stopped the operations of Uber across Germany based on the premise that Uber violated the public transportation act of the country.

Uber a taxi service operating in many countries across the globe, is getting the short end of the stick with respect to its operations in Germany. This is the second time in 7months Uber is being banned in Germany. The cat and mouse race between Uber and Germany is not going to end anytime soon.

This time a court is frankfurt district stopped the operations of Uber across Germany based on the premise that Uber violated the public transportation act of the country. The frankfurt district court judge in charge of the case- Judge Joachim Nickel, in the ruling banning Uber's opreration, said the company’s drivers did not have the permit required for taxi drivers in Germany.

Early last September, a German lobby group-Taxi Deutschland asked for an injunction against Uber on the grounds that the business model of Uber, is in violation of German law. An official statement from Uber says they disagree with the ruling and that it is an infringement on the company’s rights. They say they are weighing their options and have made moves to lodge a formal complaint against Germany with European commission and also file an appeal against Judge Joachim Nickel’s judgement.

Uber alleges that they are being victimised because of their increasing customer base in Germany.
