Ondo Governor's office destroyed by fire

While commending the state fire service, the commissioner for information, Mr. Kayode Akinmade revealed that the fire was caused by a power surge.

Punch reports that the fire lasted for 15 minutes before it was put out by men of the Ondo state fire service.

Reports say the incident happened during a courtesy visit by the national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Alimodu Sherif.

Speaking to newsmen about the incident, commissioner for information, Mr. Kayode Akinmade  said “We cannot assess the extent of damage caused by the fire for now, but all we can say now is that fire happened as a result of power surge and it only affected the Ante-Room of the Executive Chamber.”

While commending the state fire service, the commissioner revealed that the fire was caused by a power surge.

Olusegun Mimiko is currently the chairman of the PDP Governors’ forum, he was elected as the Governor of Ondo state, on the platform of the Labour Party, before he decamped to the PDP on Thursday October 2, 2014.
