Members to benefit from 10,000 housing unit scheme

The scheme is open to members of the public who subscribed to the National Housing Fund (NHF).

Residential Housing Units

The proposed Trade Union Congress housing units will comprise of 2 and 3 bedroom apartments, 3 and 4 bedroom Terrace Duplexes, 4 bedroom Semi-Detached Duplexes and 5 bedroom Fully-Detached Duplex.

The project is a partnership arrangement between Rock of Ages Properties Ltd and the Trade Union Congress (TUC). It is also supported by the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN).

While inspecting the first cluster of 5,000 housing units of the project in the Rock City Estate, Lugbe-Abuja, the Trade Union Congress President, Comrade Bala Kaigama said: “We have taken up the challenge of providing affordable houses for our members. We are witnessing the ground breaking ceremony of the first phase which is going to cover 5000 houses until we move to other phases. It was a promise during my electioneering campaign for leadership of the TUC.”

In a related development,  the Executive Director, Rock of Ages Properties Limited, Mr. Adike Chux said 'With your equity contribution of between 20-30 per cent depending on the house type and price, you can move into your house and the balance paid over 30 years via mortgage.'
