The National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) is showing it's approval of speed limiting devices by working with the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC).

Speed limit

According to Folajimi Akinifesi, the Chairman of NURTW in Ondo state, the union is working with the FRSC because of the benefits of these devices.

Speaking to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Akinfesi gave the Wikipedia definition, along with reasons for the device.

"A speed limiter is a governor used to limit the top speed of a vehicle. Our members will comply with the speed limiter because it is a safety precaution to reduce frequent road mishaps.

Most of the accidents are caused by speeding, reckless driving and careless overtaking. So, if there is a warning caution device attached to a vehicle, then to me, it is a welcome idea. We will make sure that all our members buy the device and fix it in their vehicles," he said.
