Japanese automaker, Nissan, has closed its investigation on the 2003-2014 Nissan Versa for braking issues, but now older models of the Versa are being investigated for a possible suspension problem.

According to the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the Nissan Versa from the 2008-2010 model years have reportedly been having an issue with its suspension that can possibly cause tire or brake line damage.

The agency says it has received 93 reports of suspension coils breaking off without warning, with one involving a suspension failure while the car was moving at 65 mph, causing a sudden tire problem.

120,000 vehicles in total are involved in the Nissan Versa safety investigation that has one single reported crash related to the issue. NHTSA will investigate the claims to determine if there is enough evidence to upgrade the issue to an engineering analysis, a necessary step before it can ask the automaker to recall the vehicles.
