'Nigerians need better, but affordable houses' - FCT Minister

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Malam Muhammad Bello, is advocating for affordable properties for Nigerians.

In a multi-disciplinary meeting of all building professionals, he urged them to stop cutting corners when building houses.

Mallam Bello cited an example, where houses, in estates, are built without providing space for trees, gardens or play grounds.

The minister said quality is just as important as fast house delivery.

He also stressed the need for architects, engineers, town planners, surveyors and builders to work together in order to build better, but affordable houses.

Architects Registration Council of Nigeria (ARCON), Architects Registration Council of Nigeria, e.t.c, were in attendance.
