The sector public enlightenment officer, Mr Solomon Meremikwu, made this known in a statement made available to News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ilorin on Thursday.

The Sector Commander, Mr Sunday Maku, was quoted as saying that preparations were ongoing for the sensitisation of communities along critical areas in the state where road traffic crashes frequently occur.

Maku said the corps would partner with the Red Cross Society and the Nigeria Police to sensitise stakeholders in accident prone communities on their role whenever crashes occur.

He stressed the need for people in communities to have knowledge of first aid in cases of emergency.

“We are committed to ensuring that there is free flow of traffic, safety of motorists on the road and prompt rescue interventions.

“The FRSC is poised to serve the state better and more efficiently,” he said.

The sector commander used the opportunity to inform the general public that the command had moved to its permanent site on Airport Road in Ilorin.
