FRSC arrests 5,855 traffic offenders over seat-belt violation, others

The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Edo state, has revealed the number of arrests made between January and April, 2016.

He stated seat-belt violation as the major offence recorded, adding that no fewer than 1,500 motorists had been booked for this particular violation.

"It is alarming that people do not want to use their vehicles seat belts while driving knowing that it is for their own safety.

We have been carrying out public campaigns on dangers of non-compliance to use of seat belt and we will continue with it.

But, I want to stress that the use of seat belt is a law and sanctions will be meted to those who break the law", he said.
