Business magnate to withdraw planned $1 billion investment from Scotland

Reports say British lawmakers are to have a debate on barring Donald from Britain over an alleged 'hate speech on Muslims' on January 18, 2016, after an online petition in support of him being barred gathered over 570,000 signatures.

Donald Trump, American business magnate and Republican Presidential candidate of the United States in 2016 has reportedly promised to stop his $1 billion planned investments in the 2 golf courses he owns in Scotland, if barred from entering Britain.

In a statement released by Donald's spokeman, Trump's organisation had planned to invest a total of £700 million pounds (950 million euros, $1 billion) in two golf courses he owns in Scotland.

“Any action to restrict travel would force The Trump Organization to immediately end these and all future investments we are currently contemplating in the United Kingdom,” spokesman George Sorial said in a statement.

“Westminster would create a dangerous precedent and send a terrible message to the world that the United Kingdom opposes free speech and has no interest in attracting inward investment.”

In Britain, lawmakers are officially to debate any official petition that reaches 100,000 signatures, but no decision is taken at the end of the session.

Prime Minister David Cameroon has termed Trump's speech on Muslims as 'stupid,' 'divisive' and 'wrong' but does not support banning him as that could damage the UK-US ties.

Banning him could also alienate millions of Donald Trumps supporters.

Recently, Donald defended his speech on Muslims by saying he is putting security first and not religion.
