Governor's arrest leads to the conviction of 6 traffic violators

The traffic violators arrested by Governor Ambode have been found guilty by the Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Court.

Two days ago, December 16th, Governor Akinwunmi Ambodearrested six traffic offenders in Ijora, Lagos state.

A press release from the Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Task Force, Adebayo Taofio, revealed the names of the offenders.

They are Mrs. Adejoke Elemoro, Mr. Ogunlana Olatunji, Mr. Ganiyu Ayokuleyin, Mr. Ogunade Segun, Mr. Akinlabi Ahmed and Mr. Sunday Uzebor.

According to the public statement, they were arraigned before the Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Court on a one-count charge, driving against traffic.

Mobolaji Tanimola, the Trial Magistrate, found them guilty and ordered them to pay a fine of N50,000 each, and forfeit their vehicles to the government, as opposed to six-month imprisonment.

Their vehicles include four cars, one motorcycle and a tricycle.

This is not the first time Governor Ambode has arrested a traffic offender.

Last month, a picture of the governor confronting an unruly driver went viral.
