Stakeholders moves for active research in industry

Efforts at driving the agricultural sector to a vibrant stage have received much optimism

The stakeholders in the agricultural sector have called on the government to look into research development in order to improve the agricultural sector.

According to Mr. Akin Ogunbiyi, the Group Executive Director, Elephant Group there is an urgent need to adopt technology and research in identifying products in which the country has comparative advantage.

In an interview with Punch, Dr. Abdul Bello, the President, Kaduna Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture expressed a urgent need for research within the industry.

In his view, he said, “We must learn to work with Information and Communications Technology. Rwanda has adopted ICT in every sector of its economy and everything in that country is currently working. Nigeria should do the same.”

Efforts at driving the agricultural sector to a vibrant stage have received much optimism from stakeholders and some Nigerians.
