Kandi had talked about the surrogacy process before with Busy Philipps on Busy Tonight. She said shed used IVF when she got pregnant with Ace, and that Andy Cohen, who also had a child via surrogate earlier this year, offered her some advice about the process.

"This has been kind of a thing for me and my husband, like, 'Should we do it? Should we not do it?' Kandi said. "I had made a comment, I said something about, 'I guess I'm going to have a baby mama. He said to me, 'Don't you ever say that. Kandi teared up as she continued. He was like, 'Because you are the mother and to say she's your baby mama? That's taking away from you.

Kandi said she tends to be an open book on RHOA, and being open about the surrogacy process is part of that. Kudus to her for sharing that journey!
