"My ex wants me back, but I'm scared he'll dump me again"

Hi Bukky,

My ex wants to get back with me after a year of our separation.

I am not in any relationship yet and I still really like him [maybe a little too much sef] but I don't think this will be different than the first time.

The relationship broke up because he got distracted after a while and everything collapsed because he just stopped trying to make things work.

Now he says things will be different but I have reservations.

I know the answer seems obvious, but we look so good together, and he’s just looks like the perfect guy, really.

Should I just walk away, or give him the chance to rectify his past mistakes?

Seriously, I think the need to go back is stronger than the reservation I’m feeling.

I think I have an idea of what you are feeling - I have been there before, the battle between what one wants and good reasoning.

You know this could end up a disastrous thing, but still... you just want to do it because... you never know, the good could outweigh the bad, and things could turn out good against all odds.

In the end, walking away from this and forever wondering what could have been is not a burden anyone wants to carry around for life.

I know once bitten, twice shy but sometimes second chances and the attempts to make wrongs right could be better option than letting sleeping dogs lie.

I hope things work out this time around between you and him - I think you should go right ahead and do what you are apparently dying to do.
