Sometimes couples compete with each other without having the slightest idea that they do. Owen cites an example saying one of the subtle kinds of competitiveness between couples is if one partner says something and the other responds “well you do that too”.
It might not look like that to both couples, but it’s a way of proving who is right or who is wrong in the relationship.

Willams says that instead of couples acting all competitive, they should be more cooperative with each other.
