Since you run out of money frequently and now you really want to have something left in your purse and bank account, the first thing you have to check is the unimportant things you spend your money on.

After taking care of essentials like rent, utilities, and other payments, look at those little things you don't really need and you spend your money on them. Cut back on your impulse buying and discretionary expenses, you'll see the difference.

2. Buy and pay with cash

Have you noticed that each time you go to a shopping mall with your credit or debit card, you end up spending more? See, retailers are aware of the statistics that prove that you spend more when you visit their shops with your credit cards. This is one of the main reasons you spend more than necessary every month.

So, to spend less and save more, just go shopping only with your list and cash, your impulse will never dictate what you should buy again.

3. Use budget planner apps

Technology has become a very strong element in our lives and we need to take advantage of this to address and solve some of our problems.

To cut down on your unnecessary expenses,  get a budget app that helps you calculate how much your expenses are for a year and how much your income will be for a year. Such apps as Mint Budgeting App, PocketGuard Budget, You Need a Budget and GoodBudget can help your situation. Just go download one.

4. Be brand flexible

It takes one to be rich to stay loyal to certain brands. You just need to have that money to keep up with such brands. However,  staying loyal to a brand might cost you a lot of money (you don't have) in the long run because when the price of certain products in the brand's line goes high, you get 'high' too by spending more, whereas, there are alternative products in the market that cost much less than the brand that gulps your money every now and then.

5. Do a spending fast

See, this costs you nothing. All you have to do is to withdraw from spending. Test your spending habits by buying only the things you need for 30 days and see how your spending habits can influence your decisions on what you need and what you want.
