This 'American ninja warrior' literally bribes his kids to exercise, and it's working

According to the article, Wright said that he recalled the days when he would receive 50 cents instead of a dollar for a chore badly completed.

American Ninja Warrior finalist Morgan "Moose" Wright, who is also father to two children, is no exception. In fact, he's taken the physical wellbeing of his children a step further and tied it in with the development of their financial fitness by determining their weekly allowance based on their amount of physical activity.

Wright, 43, discussed his unorthodox parenting method in an interview with CNBC, during which he explained why he and his wife pay their two children upwards of $60 a week for pushups, planks, and runs.

"What [is a] better investment than on the physical fitness of my children?" he said.

According to the article, Wright said that he recalled the days when he would receive 50 cents instead of a dollar for a chore badly completed, and he didn't want to put his children—Josalyn, 12, and Jaxon, 9—through the same disappointment. Instead, he and his wife have a rule that after the kids first complete their chores and homework, they can start on their money-making exercises.

"My kids do their chores, because that's just what they do," he said, and then added jokingly, "I feed them dinner. I keep them safe from bears. They should take out the trash."

Wright, one of 100 contestants who made it to the American Ninja Warrior finals this year, is also an elementary school P.E. teacher in his hometown of North Fort Myers, Florida. As is the norm in this day and age, there will surely be a massive debate somewhere on the Internet concerning his approach to fatherhood, because everyone and their cat has an opinion on parenting. As for Wright, well, he says that he loves the incentive it provides his kids to spend time with him exercising.

"It's such a positive way to spend a lot of time with your kids," he said. "I love the life I live."

Regardless of your stance, if you're a dad or about to become one, here are some other dad hacks you can follow that they don't mention in those baby books.
