7 Grooming Problems Men Need To Fix Before Their Wedding

Even though the bride is always the center of attention at weddings, the groom is also expected to look his very best beside her.

Wedding is an occasion when all eyes are on the couple.

It is not just the bride who needs to look prim and proper but the groom as well, to make them the ‘picture-perfect couple’.

There are a few common problems which many men may suffer from and which need to be fixed before you tie the knot to look your best on your special day.

Here’s what you can do.

1. Hair loss: Hair is one’s crowning glory and a receding hairline or bald patches can be quite detrimental to any groom’s look. After all, several eyes will be on you during your wedding. But now, there are various temporary as well as semi-permanent treatments available which can conceal your baldness a great deal. Get expert advice before trying any one of them.

2. Unkempt hands and feet: Men often neglect their hands and feet which makes them look unsightly and in bad shape, especially the nails which are surrounded with ingrowth and calluses. These nitty-gritties must be fixed before your special day to look good and also for hygiene purposes. Unshapely and dirty nails can be quite a turn-off for your bride-to-be. It is quite common for men to get manicure and pedicure treatments done. Or, if you feel they aren’t for you, you can even do one yourself at home.

3. Excess body hair: Everyone has body hair but when it is in excess, it can be quite an eyesore. To avoid such a situation especially on your wedding and the days to follow, make sure you take care of this problem in good time. We know the thought of waxing will make you run in the opposite direction but another option is laser hair reduction. This treatment will require multiple sittings but will give good results. If you plan to do this, go well in advance before the D-Day. Another option is to trim the excess hair using a trimmer.

4. Bad skin: Yes, men too have skin problems. Pimples, dry skin, uneven skin tone, tanning, dark spots affect men too. While women have a certain advantage that they can cover it up with make-up, men will have to do a little more to hide these flaws. Many grooms-to-be are now opting for facials or skin treatments like chemical peels, microdermabrasion to get rid of these skin woes. If you too plan to do the same, visit a skin specialist a few months before your wedding. You can even give home remedies a try.

5. Dark circles: Dark circles are caused due to various reasons including lack of sleep, stress, long hours in front of the computer, etc. These can leave your eyes puffy with black rings around them. Unless they are very prominent, you can manage them with a few home remedies like using tea bags or under-eye gels.

6. Bad teeth: Teeth can make or break your first impression on others. A good smile with pearly whites not only looks good in photographs but also keeps your teeth strong which is many a times ignored by many. Gum problems can arise later which can pose a problem. But you can opt for various treatments depending on your oral health problem.

7. Belly bulge: One of the prime problems for many grooms is the unsightly belly bulge which is quite difficult to get rid of. In order to get a flat stomach, you will have to control your diet and workout to burn calories. With a few alterations in your lifestyle, you can reduce the bulge to quite an extent. Walking and going for a jog regularly will also help.

Apart from these, make sure you are well-groomed for your wedding.

Go clean-shaven or if you plan to have a stubble or a beard, get it trimmed properly so that it looks neat. Splash some cologne or perfume to smell good and dress smartly to conceal any flaw you wish to.

Simple tips can go a long way in making you look like the most desirable groom.
