Bridget Nhire will now have to seek alternative options asides British Airways when flying after receiving a lifetime ban from the airline following a scuttle with fellow passengers.

Nhire was reportedly first handcuffed and escorted off the plane, although she claims she did nothing wrong.

But according to passengers, Nhire becoming intoxicated, made racist remarks to the crew, got up from her seat at least 20 times, yelled and even tried to get into the cockpit.

She was eventually strapped to her seat and accompanied by a security guard, for the remaining 90 minutes of the flight.

Further reports say there was even talk of making an emergency landing in Iran because of the woman’s “terrifying” antics.

She was however eventually escorted to a station in Dubai where she was detained for 5 hours and eventually freed without charges, though she was alerted of her lifetime ban, which went into effect immediately.

When Nhire tried to return home on a British Airways flight 10 days later, she learned her ticket had been cancelled, and is now demanding the airline pay $500 for leaving her stranded.

Speaking on the incident in a statement, the airline said "customers and crew deserve to enjoy their flights, and not suffer from any form of disruption”

It added that the sort of action would not be tolerated, pointing out that it would never issue a lifetime ban without first carrying out a thorough investigation into an incident.

The airline however pointed out that customers can appeal the decision.
