Creating artwork of any form is no walk in the park, and when such a creation is done in front of a live audience, a lot more is at stake.
"I didn't sleep the night before I drew Patoranking on stage"
The 500-level medical student admitted that he was so worked up about painting Patoranking in front of a live audience that he didn't sleep the night before the performance.
This was the pressure, painter/medical student Fola David felt when he had to create a painting of dance hall artiste, Patoranking before a live audience at the MTV Shuga event.
David said he had proposed to do a drawing of Nelson Mandela which he had previously done, but the organisers instead requested he paint Patoranking to which he agreed..a night to showtime.
"That night and the morning of the event, I didn't sleep because its a performance, you have to get what you'll wear ready to look nice, you also have to get the materials together and I'm in school, pencil works and school work are on the table. I had to clear everything and focus on Patoranking"
In the end, David was able to wow the audience...earning him a place in the Pulse TV studio.
