Airline wins award for exceptional safety culture

Aero's induction followed the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA), the highest safety certification of the Association that it received last year.

Aero Contractors has become the 2nd Nigerian airline to join global airline association, International Air Transport Association (IATA).

In addition to being the 2nd Nigerian airline to join the global aviation group, it is the 3rd in West and Central Africa.

Aero, which is Nigeria’s oldest aviation company received the membership certificate following a rigorous exercise in meeting safety standards, customer services and security by IATA over the last two years.

In addition, Aero also won the Exceptional Safety Culture Award, following a rigorous audit by a team of consultants from NECA/NSITF on Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) policies, procedures and culture.

In recognition of the award, Aero was gifted an ambulance from the Nigeria Employers Consultative Association (NECA) and Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF).

Commenting on the award and gesture from NECA, the Acting Managing Director of Aero, Capt. Russell Leefoon said the airline won the award after a thorough audit from a respected and professional team of Safety Consultants from NECA/NSITF.

He expressed delight that their hard work to ensure highest safety standards are being recognized by reputable organizations like NECA and NSITF.

Said Leefoon:

“Aero is in business to ensure that the travel experience for travellers in Nigeria and other regions in Africa is of global standards. We are here for the long haul to raise the bar in aviation service standards in the country.”
