She Leads Africa, a social enterprise dedicated to investing in high growth female entrepreneurs who have the potential to create large enterprises, had a very successful 2014 with the launch of its pitch competition. This year the organisation is in full swing starting with workshops to be held in cities across the African continent.

She Leads Africa has partnered with Intel Corp to host free entrepreneur development workshops in Nairobi, Johannesburg and Lagos for young female tech entrepreneurs interested in building technology-enabled businesses.

The workshop will provide the women with the skills necessary to “derisk” and successfully launch a tech startup.

“To execute efficiently, entrepreneurs need to learn a number of skills including strategy development, marketing, fundraising, and pitching. It is of course possible to learn this via trial and error and in many ways entrepreneurship is about getting out of the classroom and doing things. That said entrepreneurial training helps minimize this trial and error period,” Yasmin Belo-Osagie, co-founder of She Leads Africa told Disrupt Africa.

While the workshops are primarily aimed at teaching skills, She Leads Africa also hopes to create a network of female entrepreneurs across the continent, a “Young Women’s Club”.

Interested applicants need to apply online, as attendance is strictly by selection.

The first workshop will be held in Nariobi on 24th of this month. Lagos and Johannesburg next on the list with the dates and venues for the two cities to be announced on the She Leads Africa website.
