TV station reportedly sacks 145 employees

Reports claim TVC station has laid off 145 employees.

The employees were laid off this morning. Although no official statement has been given by the media house, Linda Ikeji reports that the mass retrenchment was because of a "bloated workforce and high overhead cost."

TVC located in Ikosi, Lagos was created in 2012 and is owned by  Continental Broadcasting Service Nigeria Ltd. TVC is on the DSTV platform in Nigeria and British Sky Broadcasting Group Plc (BSkyB) in the United Kingdom.

Its slogans are "Through African Eyes" and "First. Reliable. Accurate." TVC boasts of the most popular talk show in Lagos 'Your View' made up of Morayo Afolabi Brown, Yeni Kuti, Osayuwamen Peace-Saleh, Olajumoke Olubunmi Olaode-James, Tope Mark Odigie, Nyma Akashat Zibiri and Sandra Eze.
