28-yr-old woman dies fighting over boyfriend

A woman has lost her life during a fight over a man.

A 28-year-old woman identified as Iklima Alhassan, has been confirmed dead after she got into a fight with another woman, Fatima Baba Isa, over a 30-year-old man, Nasiru Usman, in Bauchi State.

According to reports, Alhassan and Usman had been a relationship for some years now which she thought was heading for marriage and had no cause to think the man had another woman beside her until she visited him at his residence at Rafin Makaranta area, only to meet her rival in her boyfriend's apartment.

In a bid to claim what belonged to her, Alhassan, from Bukuru town in Plateau State, engaged the 22-year-old Isa in a fight but unfortunately for her, she met her untimely death as a result.

The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Haruna Mohammed, confirmed the incident, saying the loverboy and the other lady have been arrested and are helping the law fficers in their investigations.

“On August 9, at about 12:50 am, an unconscious young lady was found along Maiduguri by-pass, near Awalah Roundabout, Bauchi.

The police patrol team attached to Tafawa Balewa Housing Estate Division visited the scene and rushed the victim to ATBU Teaching Hospital, Bauchi, were she was certified dead on arrival by a medical doctor and the corpse was deposited in the mortuary for post-mortem examination.”
