Giorgina Nigro was allegedly bludgeoned to death on by her husband of 14 years while she slept at their home in New Jersey.

The 31 year old mother of three, Giorgina and Vito Nigro, 42, had been due to attend couple's counseling hours before the brutal murder.
Giorgina had suffered abuse from in her marriage for years before being brutally killed.

Girogina was allegedly killed by blunt and sharp force trauma at the hands of Vito, who had just returned from dropping their two daughters off at daycare.
It is not known what weapon was used.
Vito, who has three children under 10 with Giorgina, then tried to kill himself by throwing himself into traffic.
He was saved and rushed to the hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

He has been charged with murder.
