13 girls between the ages of 15 to 21 were rescued by men of the police in Abia State on Friday, October 31, when a bus conveying them was intercepted.
13 Girls Rescued By Police From Traffickers
Police in Abia State intercepted a bus conveying 13 girls to Garbon and arrested two suspects.
reports that two suspects were arrested on the bus with number plate, AYB349AE which was allegedly about to transport the 13 girls to Garbon. The bus according to the report, was heading to Oron, Akwa Ibom from where the suspected traffickers had intended to take the girls across the border.
The Abia State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Ogbonna Godfrey told newsmen that the 13 girls and the suspects have been transferred to the Nigeria Immigration Service. The names of the suspect have not been revealed by the police.
