Readers say a female child should not be denied her inheritance

Pulse Nigeria Poll voters do not believe that female children should be denied their inheritance.

In most Nigerian society, male children are seen as the sole inheritors of their parents' property while the female children are supposed to be married and therefore, should not have a share of any property.

But these days, some of these traditions seem to have changed and daughters are also given parts of their inheritance, though some societies still frown at this.

A whopping 89.9% of voters did not agree to a female child being denied of her inheritance while a mere 10.1% agreed to it, meaning that a total of 79.8% of voters carried the day.
