"Dear Pulse,
'6 months after marriage, my husband has refused to have sex with me'
Cynthia just got married six months ago but her husband has refused making love to her, always giving excuses whenever she wants to get intimate with him.
My name is , a 29-year-old married woman. I got married to in June of this year after dating for four months.
I met James in my new church after I was transferred to Abuja from my base in Lagos. Before I met James, I was going through a crisis after my fiance of six years dumped me and chosen for him by his family.
In fact, the reason I asked my company to transfer me to our Abuja branch was to get away from the hurt and disgrace that my fiance had put me through. I was terribly distraught and I even contemplated suicide but for my friends and family who stood by me.
I was in Abuja for six months before I met James. Before then, I threw myself into church activities as a way of battling the demons of rejection I had been battling.
I joined the choir and witness group in the church and my zeal was not hidden as the pastor always singled me out for praises and commendation.
James on his part is also a church worker and one of the most sought after bachelors with many ladies always dreaming of having him as a husband, so it was a surprise when he approached me and said he would like to marry me.
At first, I did not take him very serious because then, I saw every man as the same, not after what my fiance had done to me with the love I gave him.
But he persisted and even told the pastor about his intentions. The pastor called us and told us to pray over the relationship.
After four months of the courtship which was without sex or any intimate relations, we got married.
But it has been six months now and my husband has refused to make love to me. Anytime I talk to him about it, he will say sex is not food and as such, not the most important thing to him.
I suspect he has sexual problems because no matter what I do, his manhood refuses to get erect. I have tried to talk him into seeing a doctor but he would have none of that.
I am at a loss on what to do to save my marriage because apart from being starved sexually, I want to have my babies.
Cynthia."
