Jada Pinkett Smith Is A "Soldier For Love"

The actress tells Extra she and Will Smith are planning their 20th wedding anniversary in 2016 despite recent separation rumours.

Jada Pinkett Smith is one hell of a soldier who will not surrender easily on that marriage battlefield. In fact, she is a bonafide soldier for love when it comes to protecting and supporting her marriage to actor and producer Will Smith.

In a recent interview with Extra, the "Ali" actress admits she and husband Will Smith - with who she has children Jaden, 16, and 13-year-old Willow - have had tough times in their 18-year marriage, but know they just have to work harder during those periods.

She said: "You have to have kind of a warrior mentality. You have to be a solider for love. You have to be able to withstand tough times and just because the tough times come doesn't mean it's time to stop... it means it's time to dig in."

The 42-year-old actress also believes the key to a successful marriage is to have a strong friendship and communication with your partner.

She told 'Extra': "Your partner has to be your best, best, friend. And he's my best friend."

Despite the couple have been subjected to numerous rumors about their marriage, the 'Ali' actress insists they are as strong as ever and are already making plans for their 20th wedding anniversary. "We're going to be celebrating 20 years in two years, so we're starting to plan now for a big 20th year."

Meanwhile, Jada is relishing her role as Fish Mooney in new series 'Gotham', which premieres in September.
