Woman drinks poison after catching husband in bed with prostitute

A married woman attempted to commit suicide after she caught her husband with a prostitute on their matrimonial bed.

A nurse in the town of Chinotimba, Victoria Falls county, Zimbabwe who came back from night duty earlier than usual, was shocked to find that her husband had brought home a prostitute for the night, ran amok and destroyed the family property before attempting to take her life by drinking poison.

According to MyZimbabwe, the woman was lucky to be alive as she was quickly rushed to the hospital where the poisonous substance was pumped out of her system.

A neighbour narrated the incident to the online paper:

"The incident has really shocked us. We didn't expect her husband to do that; worse still her attempt to take her on life.

She was on night duty when her husband brought a prostitute to sleep in their house. This did not go down well with her resulting in her destroying property before attempting to take her life."
