Ekiti Governor supervises arrest of cows

Governor Fayose is not taking herdsmen's issues in his state lightly as he personally supervised the arrest of cows found grazing in the capital.

Gov. Ayo Fayose is not playing with herdsmen in Ekiti

According to Lere Olayinka, the Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media to Fayose, the Governor was going for a program in another part of the state when he came across herdsmen flouting the state Anti-Grazing Law along Afao Ekiti road in Ado Ekiti.

The governor promptly stopped his convoy and personally supervised the 'arrest' of one of the cows while the herdsmen and other cows negotiated with their legs and ran into the bush upon seeing the governor's security men.

This is what Olayinka wrote on his Facebook wall:

"As Governor Fayose was going to Ikole Ekiti today, he came across herdsmen along Afao Ekiti road, Ado Ekiti.

The governor demonstrated the seriousness of the State Anti-Grazing Law by personally seeing to it that one of the COWS was "arrested" by youths who chased the cows after the herdsmen ran into the bush upon seeing the governor's security men."

"The remaining cows ran into the bush too. Ekiti Grazing Enforcement Marshall (EGEM) will start work in few days time."

Olayinka also posted the incident on his Twitter handle.
