British Singer Leaves Cash Money

Jay Sean says he has grown tired of chasing pop success

Singer Jay Sean has announced that he is no longer with Cash Money Records. The British act leaves the famous Hip Hop label after six years with the imprint.

Jay Sean says the reason why he left Cash Money was because he had gotten tired of chasing pop success. "It got to the point where I was chasing pop success and 'the smash' when really my heart wasn't in it anymore. That's not why I got into this game" he said.

The singer however maintained that he is in good terms with the owners of Cash Money Records. "I had and still maintain a great relationship with Slim and Baby [CEOs of Cash Money]. They believed in me and my talent and our partnership obviously garnered a lot of pop success" stated Jay Sean.

Jay Sean is the third act to leave Cash Money this year. Busta Rhymes and Mystikal left the imprint early this year. Tyga and Lil' Twist have publicly expressed their frustrations with YMCMB.
