1. Set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), "The Punisher" is a spin-off of Marvel's "Daredevil."
2. The series revolves around Frank Castle, who uses lethal methods to fight crime as the vigilante "the Punisher."
After exacting revenge on those responsible for the death of his family, he uncovers a larger conspiracy beyond what was done to him and his family.
3. The character of Frank Castle was first introduced as an antagonist during the second season of "Daredevil."
4. Jon Bernthal, who made his debut as the character in "Daredevil," will reprise his role in "The Punisher."
5. The series also stars Ben Barnes, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Amber Rose Revah, Deborah Ann Woll, Daniel Webber, Jason R. Moore, Paul Schulze, Jaime Ray Newman and Michael Nathanson.
6. Dark, gruesome and without superpower acts, "The Punisher" is different from every other Marvel series.
Director Stephen Surjik said: "It is different than the other Marvel shows as far as it is an adult drama… the character himself is well-known and the way that they approach it is very different from the other shows.”
7. All 13 episodes of "The Punisher" Season 1 will premiere on Netflix on November 17.
