Does Jason Derulo owe South Africans an apology for asking them if they can speak English during his performance at ANN7?

Does Jason Derulo owes South Africans an apology?

Jason Derulo is yet to tender in an apology to his South African fans three days after he was lambasted on social media for 'insulting' his audience on stage.

Derulo, who was invited as the main act for the 2015 ANN7 South African of the Year Awards on Saturday, October 17, left fans angry and unimpressed when midway into his performance, asked the crowd whether they can "speak English?"

Immediately, fans strated throwing shots at the 'Wiggle Wiggle' hit-maker on Twitter. One fan wrote: "Jason Derulo needs to leave our country right now. How dare he?". Another said: "Because in SA speaking English means you're smart… in other words Jason Derulo was asking if they're Smart, that's why they feel disrespected." And the other wrote: "Jason Derulo asking if we speak English in SA like Wtf? did they book you in swahili? Eban!"

It's obvious Derulo got the message because the next day (October 18), the singer tried to clear the air on what he really meant when he told the crowd: "Y'all speak English right?"  He wrote:

However, South Africans still believe that Derulo hasn't apologized for saying what he said to them on stage. Some insist, he needs to use "I apologize" or " I am sorry" before they would let go else, they "don't want him in South Africa" any more!
