Lagos govt urges administration to work hard as schools resume for 2nd term

Deputy Governor of Lagos state, Dr. Idiat Adebule has urged public school administrators to make sure they retain their moral values while also working hard as a new school term resumes, Vanguard reports

Public schools in Lagos resumed for the second term of the 2015/2016 academic session, yesterday, January 11.

Adebule, in a statement urged the school authorities to focus on making sure academic performance of student is up to par,  justify government’s huge investment in education.

The Deputy Governor in statement to signify the commencement of a new academic session, noted that the objective is achievable when teachers and school administrators rededicate themselves to the ethics of the teaching profession, making education interesting and inspiring to their students, inculcating good orientation, and moral values, encouraging pupils to be hardworking and be self disciplined.

According to her, “We have the unique responsibility to be the prime change agents our dear state needs to become a better place to live and work. All what we need is to rededicate ourselves to the ethics of the profession and make education interesting and inspiring again, while I urge you to encourage hard work, ethical conduct and moral values."

Adebule also implored all stakeholders in the education sector to join hands to make the quality of Lagos a role model, not just in the country but in Africa.
