A secondary school student has been arrested after he attacked a teacher with a machete for punishing his girlfriend. Ebuka chased the teacher into a classroom and cut him with the machete on the head.
According to reports, the student, identified as Ebuka, and his lover are students of the Community Secondary School, Alor Uno, Enugu State where the attack took place.
It was reported Ebuka had vowed to retaliate when he learnt that the teacher punished the girl for misbehaving in class.
He later approached the teacher brandishing a cutlass.
The teacher then fled on sensing danger but Ebuka chased him into a classroom where he cut him with the machete on the head.
Reports say he attempted to inflict further injury on the teacher but for the intervention of other teachers and students who overpowered him.
He was subsequently handed over to the police.
Witnesses say he acted like someone under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
