Anami, from Purwakarta, West Java, claims she has reached the ripe old age of 140 – making her the oldest person ever to have lived by nearly two decades.
The elderly woman says she is waiting on DNA tests to verify her outlandish claims as part of the World's Oldest Woman contest in Russia.
Anami, who has 12 children, 26 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren, says the secret to a long life is apparently always being happy, helping others and praying five times a day.
She met with the District Head of Purwakarta to request his support to attend the competition, the winner of which will receive 13 billion Indonesian rupiah (£630,000).
She lives in a small house in Kampung Bungur Sarang Village, Indonesia, with her family, where she is still able to perform daily chores on smallholdings and help to make meals.
