Governor launches contributory scheme for pilgrims

The aim if this scheme is to ensure that every persons interested in going on pilgrimage will be able to do so regardless of financial status.

Lagos State governor, Akinwumi Ambode has launched a Hajj and Jerusalem pilgrimage for prospective pilgrims in the state.

Vanguard reports that the aim if this scheme is to ensure that every persons interested in going on pilgrimage will be able to do so regardless of financial status.

Ambode who also honoured the Managing Director of the Medview Airline for partnering with the state government in the airlifting of the pilgrims in the state, reiterated his commitment to make like easier for residents in the state.

Speaking after the launch of the contributory scheme also known as, “Pay Small Small Scheme”, Ambode, represented by the state Commissioner for Home Affairs, Dr. AbdulHakeem AbdulLateef, said with the scheme petty traders and other low income earners would be able to fulfill their religious obligations in a more convenient way.

Ambode, who described the scheme as a strategy to create an enabling environment for every resident to feel the impact of the government, more approaches underway to make life better for the citizen irrespective of their tribe, religion and other differences.
