Taraba APC accuses TY Danjuma of bribing INEC with N2bn

The APC alleged that Danjuma had paid the officials two billion naira in order to ensure that the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Aisha Alhassan does not emerge winner.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Taraba state has accused former Minister of Defence, Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma of bribing officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to tamper with the state’s governorship election results.

The APC alleged that Danjuma had paid the officials two billion Naira in order to ensure that the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Aisha Alhassan does not emerge winner.

“I am assuring you that with their TY Danjuma and the bribe money, Senator Aisha Jummai Alhassan, Maman Taraba insha Allah will certainly be the next governor of the state,” the youth leader of Alhassan’s campaign, Bala Abubakar Maina said.

The April 11 governorship elections in Taraba State were declared inconclusive after the number of cancelled votes amounted to more than the differential votes between the two major candidates, Alhassan and Darius Ishaku of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
