Yesterday, January 2, 2015 in Abuja, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, the National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has said  in a statement signed on his behalf by APC's Assistant Publicity Director that President Buhari's administration would not be distracted by the antics of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Also, as a means of dismising the claims by Olisa Metuh, the PDP spokesman, that President Buhari's anti-corruption campaign was targeted towards members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) such as Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd.) ahead of the 2019 general elections, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun said that the members of the All Progressive Congress (APC) are not bothered about whoever the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) makes its presidential candidate, and that the current administration is only concerned about delivering the promises made to Nigerians.

In his words, “Whoever the PDP picks as its candidate for the 2019 presidential election is not the business of the APC. Relevant laws in the country clearly spell out requirements for persons seeking election into all political office. The preoccupation of the APC and President Muhammadu Buhari is to deliver on all the promises made to Nigerians by the party during the 2015 election.

‘‘Looking back at the last seven months, there are clear indicators showing that the APC and the President Buhari administration is on the right track to delivering on its change agenda.’’

The APC national chairman also said that unlike the PDP, the APC is a law-abiding party that would not resort to the use of diabolical concepts.

“Clearly such abuse of presidential directives was a concept invented and effectively deployed by the PDP during its defunct 16-year rule. The APC is a law-abiding party and cannot adopt such diabolical concept. The APC believes strongly in the rule of law, as against the kind of impunity Nigeria witnessed under the PDP for 16 years.”

He also made reference to the fact that the anti-graft investigations are not selective, and that upon proof of corrupt practices, anybody found guilty , including members of the APC would face the wrath of the law.

He used the medium to reach out to aspiring members of the PDP who are "genuinely'" inspired by the APC-led administration to come on board.
