Members of the Ondo state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) threw caution to the wind and engaged in a free for all fight to take control of the party secretariat, reports say.

The APC leader, Bola Tinubu was accused of causing trouble in the Ondo state chapter of the party, by trying to install his anointed governorship candidate.

Trouble began when the state Chairman, Isaac Kekemeke was forcefully removed and a Saka Yusuff, installed as the party’s new leader, Punch reports.

Kekemeke was removed by aggrieved party members for allegedly supporting one of the governorship aspirants, Segun Abraham.

Yusuff however claims his supporters were attacked by Kekemeke's followers, who were brandishing weapons.

According to reports, it took the efforts of the Ondo state police command to restore law and order.

The spokesman of the police in the state, Femi Joseph, speaking on the incident, said “Our men will always ensure that the forthcoming primary and governorship election are violence-free and there will not be any pre-election violence.”

An APC governorship aspirant, Tunji Abayomi alleged that Bola Tinubu ordered chieftains of the party to help a particular governorship aspirant, Segun Abraham win in the upcoming primaries.
