In a statement made available to Pulse, Emejuru said he was dropping from the 2019 presidential race sighting personal reasons.
He, however, pledged to champion the interest of the “downtrodden” masses in his own capacity adding that he would seek election at right time.
The statement reads: “Through these experiences every day I have stepped on Nigerian soil, from United States of America, I have also had to witness the heartache of the Nigerian people.
“All of this would eventually lead in my decision to aspire for the highest office in the Land with such wonderful potential, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“I know, one day, in a true democratically elected process, when that day is to come, if its Gods will, the will of the people, it will pass, but for now, due to personal reasons beyond my control, it will not be during the 2019 elections.
“However, I will be a tireless, fierce advocate, for anyone who tries to interfere with the Democratic process and the will of the people. He said.
The Rivers State born advocate however said he’ll on the sideline continue to press home for a turn-around of the country’s perennial economic and infrastructural backwardness.
“I will advocate for every sector (including the Power Sector), and every Insecurity issue. Never Give Up! Keep Fighting! I will be your voice” Emejuru said.
Emejuru had backed the call for restructuringsaying Nigeria’s potentials would be fully harnessed if each region of the country “enjoys the fruits of its labour.”
