TV Star's BFF Kathy Griffin Tapped For Fashion Police Gig

The 54-year-old comedienne revealed to Access Hollywood on Monday that E! approached her to take over her late friend of the popluar fashion show!

No worries folks, E! Fashion Police will not be scrapped just because Joan Rivers has gone home, but she will be replaced on the show!

According to Access Hollywood, River's BFF, Kathy Griffin, 54, has been approached to take over from her late friend on the widely watched fashion TV show.Griffin revealed to the mag on Monday at the Make Equality Reality event in Beverly Hills, California, that she was asked to be the new top cop on the show adding, "They did offer it to me."

Despite the offer, she does not yet know if she will take the hosting role left vacant when Rivers passed away two months ago.

"I don't know if the situation is correct at this time for me or right for me at this time," she said. "I really hope they continue in the spirit of Joan's work... She brought a fearlessness and a brand of humour into our homes that we really need."

Kathy - who had dinner with the Joan two weeks prior to her passing - called her friend and fellow comedian 'an ultimate feminist,' who 'absolutely invented' red carpet coverage. She said: "Comedy is not a place for you to hold back, and she didn't, and that's what i love about her."

The show's other hosts, Giuliana Rancic, Kelly Osbourne and George Kotsiopoulos are also onboard! E! announced late September that Fashion Police would return in 2015, despite the death of its 81-year-old star.

In a statement the broadcaster said it would return to television screens for post Golden Globes coverage and the decision was only made with the late comedian's daughter Melissa's blessing.

Well, thinking about how hard Joan Rivers' shoes are hard to fill, do you guys think Kathy, who is also a famed comedian would do a great job?
