Mysterious ‘device’ discovered in Obama’s residence

An unidentified ‘device’ has been found on the grounds of the White House, a US official says.

Josh Earnest, a spokesperson for President Barack Obama, stated on Monday, January 26, that the object was recovered by Secret Service agents.

Earnest stated further that the device does not pose a threat to anyone in the building.

A security perimeter has reportedly been set up around the White House to restrict access to the premises.

President Obama and his wife, Michelle are currently in India on a state visit and will stop over in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday before returning to Washington.

The White House suffered a series of incursions last year which resulted in congressional hearings and the resignation of then Secret Service Director, Julia Pierson.
