Company launches platform to help Nigerian drivers finance car purchases, leases

The aim of the platform is to help connect potential drivers with partners that can help finance their car purchases, get insurance, and of course, discounts.

The new Uber wordmark

Uber may have plans of expanding to other cities in Nigeria, but there is an incredible amount of ground to cover before they can 'conquer' Nigeria.

The company will need a lot of drivers on the road if it wants to achieve domination in Nigeria, but not a lot of people can afford to buy vehicles that meet their vehicle standards.

One of those standards, for example, is that the vehicle must not be older than 2009, and shouldn't have done more than 100,000km. There is no way you will find such a vehicle for less than N2 million, and not very many people have that kind of money. That's where Uber marketplace comes in.

The company must have realized these difficulties which is what must have led to it setting up the platform. The aim of the platform is to help connect potential drivers with partners that can help finance their car purchases, get insurance, and of course, discounts.

Along that line of thought, Uber has announced that CAR4U is one of its first Marketplace partners. As part of its package, CAR4U is offering a long term leasing deal which will include maintenance and insurance.

Cars available on this deal are the Hyundai Elantra, Kia Cerato, Volkswagen Polo, Nissan Almera, and the Nissan Sentra.

If you are interested in the Uber business but cannot afford a car that meets the company's standards, then you might want to check out this option.
