Tech giant CEO says Apple Watch can replace cay keys

Tim Cook is currently busy with the company's plans to launch the highly-anticipated smartwatch in April

Apple is about to unveil the Apple Watch and according to the CEO, Tim Cook, the new product will be a very convenient accessory and could even replace car keys.

Mr Cook is currently busy with the company's plans to launch the highly-anticipated smartwatch in April.

Apple has already sent out invitations for a media event in San Francisco on Monday March 9, about a month before the new Apple Watch hits stores.

The world's largest technology company did not specify what the event will be about in the invitation which reads simply 'Spring Forward,' a word play on the resetting of watches for daylight saving time.

Speaking to Telegraph, Tim Cook spoke about the company’s first smart wearable and talked about what will motivate a purchase decision for the Apple Watch now, and why it’ll only get more attractive as time goes on.

He also offers the example of the Apple Watch replacing your car’s physical keys or dedicated fob

Cook told the Telegraph that he suspects an initial driver for sales will be that consumers want the Apple Watch as a fashion statement, and the company has clearly been hard at work setting up the accessory in that light.
