Blackberry announces profits

BlackBerry reported a revenue of $660 million for the quarter, but technology experts say that the company is still failing in the area of sales.

BlackbBerry CEO- John Chen was quoted saying that his focus in on getting the company to make profit.  Industry analysts say they are pleased with BlackBerry’s posting of profit of $28 million or $0.05 per share.

BlackBerry reported a revenue of $660 million for the quarter, well below analyst estimates for revenue of $786 million and down about a third from the $976 million it reported in the same quarter a year earlier.

Technology experts say though the company has posted profits, they are still failing in the area of sales.

"My goal over the past years is to get our financial house in order." John Chen, CEO of BlackBerry, said.

Industry watchers say for BlackBerry to grow sales, they have to convince all their customers, and so many others, who have given up on the brand, to buy more of its smartphones.

John Chen says he is happy that BlackBerry’s profit is coming up again.
