Blackberry launches new tablet - Secutablet

Tech heads are still curious as to whether this is a relevant device for personal use.

BlackBerry is back again. The tech giant in collaboration with with Samsung, IBM and Secusmart- a German encryption company bought by blackberry last year.

Has come out  with Secutablet an innovative device that models the Samsung galaxy Tab S 10.5. This is contrary to speculations that made the rounds last year that blackberry was coming out with PlayBook 2.

This device has softwares from IBM and a special microSD card called secusmart.Samsung's Knox secure boot technology ensures that the OS on the tablet has not been tampered with, while IBM's contribution to the security chain is to "wrap" certain apps in an additional layer of code that intercepts and encrypts key data flows using the Secusmart hardware.

Hans-Christoph Quelle, a senior vice president at BlackBerry said  that the project was started long before BlackBerry acquired Secusmart, and that he is glad it has come to fruition.
